Dial-up Networking Instructions

 

  1. Double-click My Computer
  2. Double-click Dial-Up Networking
  3. With the right mouse button, click once on the NU-Telecom Internet icon (it may also be called My Connection)
  4. Select Properties
  5. Make sure the telephone number is entered correctly:
         New Ulm: 233-4235
         Springfield: 723-7235
         Sanborn: 648-7235
         Redwood Falls: 627-4119
         Aurelia: 434-0600
         Hutchinson: 234-6062
         Litchfield: 693-6877
         Buffalo Lake: 833-1100
         Glencoe: 864-2761
         Winsted: 485-7413
         Cokato: 286-6454
     
  6. Make sure the Use Area Code and Country Code checkbox is not selected
  7. Click Server Types
  8. Make sure the only checkboxes selected are Enable Software Compression and TCP/IP
  9. Click TCP/IP Settings.  The following checkboxes should be selected:
    • My Service Provider Automatically Assigns Me One
    • Server Assigned Name Server Addresses
  10. The bottom two checkboxes should be selected. If they are not, place a check there by clicking on the box
  11. Click OK
  12. Click OK on all levels until you get to the main desktop
  13. Try dialing up to the Internet
