Thunderbird Instructions

 

  1. Double click on the Thunderbird / Mail Icon. Once opened, go to the top menu bar and choose Tools

  2. From the Tools menu, select Account Settings

  3. Click on your Email address on the left pane
        (Should be the first one on the top of the column)

  4. On the right pane, type in the following information:

    Your Name:  Your real name (if you want to be identified)
    Email Address:  Type your e-mail address here
     

  5. Click on the Server Settings on the left pane

  6. On the right pane, type in the following information:

    Server Name:
    pop3.newulmtel.net (New Ulm, Springfield, Redwood Falls & Aurelia customers)
    pop3.hutchtel.net (Hutchinson and Litchfield customers)
    Username: Enter your full email address
     

  7. Click on the Outgoing Server (SMTP), on the left pane

  8. Enter the following information:

    Server Name:
    smtp.newulmtel.net (New Ulm, Springfield, Redwood Falls & Aurelia customers)
    smtp.hutchtel.net (Hutchinson and Litchfield customers)
    Put a check mark in Use name and password
    User Name:
      Enter your complete e-mail address
        (NOT just your username)
     

  9. Click OK

  10. When you send your first message you will get a box asking for your password.  Type in your password and put a check mark in the box that says Use Password Manager to remember this password.
