Call Waiting

While you're on the phone, call waiting notifies you when another caller is trying to reach you. When you're on the phone, a beep tells you a second call is waiting. If you don't answer, it beeps again in 10 seconds. Only you hear the beep; the second caller hears normal ringing.

Press the switchhook to place one caller on hold and speak to the second caller. You can place your current call on temporary hold and answer the new call.

To Answer the Second Call:

Press the switchhook for about 1 second to place the first call on hold (cordless phones always use Flash button). You are automatically connected to the second caller.

To alternate between calls, press the switchhook for about one second.

To end either call, hang up. Your telephone will ring. When you answer it, you'll be connected with the other caller.



Cancel Call Waiting

Eliminate call waiting for the duration of a call. This is especially useful for those times when you don't want your call interrupted or when you are using a computer on the line. Built in with call waiting.

To Cancel Call Waiting Before Calling:

1. Lift the handset and listen for the dial tone.

2. Dial the deactivation code *70, and listen for a special dial tone. (On a rotary phone dial 7-0 and wait four seconds.)

3. Dial the number you wish to call. When you disconnect your call, call waiting is automatically reactivated.

To Cancel Call Waiting During a Call
(requires 3-Way calling):

1. Place your current call on hold by depressing the switchhook for one second (cordless phones always use Flash button).

2. Listen for the dial tone, then dial *70. (On a rotary phone dial 7-0 and wait four seconds.)

3. Listen for a special "beep-beep" tone, and then depress the switchhook for one second and return your call.

4. When you disconnect your call, call waiting is automatically reactivated.
