Features
Contact NU-Telecom for pricing and to add
any of these
calling features.
Caller ID
See the name and/or phone number of the person calling you, before you answer
the phone. Take only that certain call you're waiting for, avoid annoying calls,
decide if you want to take a call at that certain time. This service also
provides some safety for children who are home alone.
The telephone number and/or name of the person calling you will automatically
appear on your display screen. If "P", "Private" or "Anonymous" appears on the
screen, the caller may have blocked the display of their number before placing
the call. If "Unknown Number" or "0" appears, the caller is in an area that does
not support this service. Non-published and non-listed numbers will not be
revealed.
To use Caller ID, you will need a display phone, or display unit for your
existing phone. NU-Telecom has these items for sale for your convenience.
See the name and number of who's calling on the
corner of your TV screen when you subscribe to NU-Telecom's Digital Video TV.
You can access a Call Log listing past calls.
Number Delivery -
The phone
number of the person calling you is displayed.
Name and Number Delivery -
The phone number AND name of the person
calling you is displayed.
Voice Mail
Voice mail records phone messages when you're away or not able to answer the
phone. Voice mail is very reliable, without tapes to wear out or extra equipment
setting around. Messages are recorded on the phone company's equipment. You can
also call in and listen to your messages from anywhere.
To check for messages, just go to your phone and pick up the receiver. If you
hear a stutter dial tone, you know you have received new messages while you were
away.
Digital TV
subscribers will see a message waiting indicator on their TV screen.

Caller ID / Call Waiting
Utilize Caller ID and Call Waiting at the same time. If you're on the phone and
another caller tries to reach you, the display screen will show the name and/or
phone number of the second caller. If you choose, put the first person on hold
while you connect to the new caller. Or, since you can identify this third
party, you may choose not to take their call, but you are still aware that they
tried to reach you. This service requires a Caller ID display phone or display
unit.
See the name
and number of who's calling on the corner of your TV screen when you subscribe
to NU-Telecom's Digital Video TV. You can access a Call Log listing past calls.
Caller ID / Call Waiting -
number only: display shows the phone number of the incoming call.
Caller ID / Call Waiting - name and number: see
both the phone number and name of the caller.
Call Waiting
While you're on the phone, call waiting notifies you when another caller is
trying to reach you. When you're on the phone, a beep tells you a second call is
waiting. If you don't answer, it beeps again in 10 seconds. Only you hear the
beep; the second caller hears normal ringing. You can place your current call on
temporary hold and answer the new call.

Automatic Callback
Get through to that busy number as soon as it's free! Dial a code and your phone
will check a busy number for up to 30 minutes. A special callback ring alerts
you when the number is no longer busy (some phones ring normally). Lift the
handset to automatically place the call.
Dial *66 to activate. Dial *86 to cancel.
Call Forwarding
Forward calls to another location, and you won't have to give out other phone
numbers or leave messages about where you're going. When activated, your phone
will signal with a short ring each time it forwards a call. You can make
outgoing calls as usual, but can't receive incoming calls unless call forwarding
is deactivated.

Anonymous Caller Rejection
Included free with Caller ID service. Refuse calls from
callers who have blocked their number from showing on your screen. Rejected
callers will hear a message saying that you do not accept anonymous calls, and
suggesting that they remove the blocking and call again. All other calls ring
through as usual.
Dial *77 to activate, dial *87 to cancel.
Call Tracing
A way to identify harassing or suspicious callers. If you receive a harassing
call, hang up and dial *57, or 1157 on a rotary phone. The telephone number that
called you is recorded at the phone company. If you decide to take action, you
must contact the local law enforcement agency. Information regarding traced
calls will be given directly to law enforcement officials only, at customer's
request.
This service is automatically available on all residential and business lines.
Dialing *57 is free.
Custom Ringing
A great option for a house with teenagers, or set the second line for your fax
machine. Have two phone numbers that both ring to the same line and same phones.
Each number will make the phone ring differently, so you'll hear what kind of
call is coming in.
Distinctive Ringing
Waiting for a special call? A distinctive ring can let you know when it finally
comes! It's easy to make your list of special callers. Then when those numbers
call you, a special ring announces the call. If you have call waiting and you're
on the line with another call, you'll hear a distinctive call waiting tone.
Dial *61 to make your list of favored
callers. Recorded instructions will step you through the process.
Long Distance Restriction
Phone bills getting out of hand? Strange calls showing up on your bill? Use this
restriction to limit long distance calls to only those folks who know and enter
the secret code. Local calls go through as usual.
A block may be put on your phone line to totally block all long distance calls
and/or calls to 1-900 numbers. This total-restriction block is free.
Per Call Blocking
Dial a code before you place a call, and you can block the call from showing
your telephone number to the party you are calling. If the person you are
calling has Caller ID, the words "Private" or "Anonymous" will show in the
display instead of your telephone number.
No charge! This feature is automatically on your line. Per Call Blocking may not
work on certain lines (pay phones and PBXs). If Per Call Blocking does not work
on your line, the caller will hear a recording.
To block every call made from your line, see Per Line Blocking below.
Per Line Blocking
Prevents your number from being displayed for every call made from your line.
When you call someone who has Caller ID at their end, the words "Private" or
"Anonymous" will display instead of your information.
Not available to business customers unless there is a demonstrated need as
determined by the criteria described in the phone company's tariff.
Per Call Unblocking Included with per line blocking, no extra charge. Dial *82
before making each call to be unblocked.
Selective Call Acceptance
Now your sleeping hours, special occasions, or life in general can have fewer
interruptions! Program your phone to only accept calls from certain people.
Other callers hear a message suggesting they call back later.
Dial *64 to program your numbers. Recorded instructions will step you through
the process.
Selective Call Forwarding
When you're away from the phone, automatically forward calls from only those
special people you choose. Program which numbers should be forwarded, while
calls from other numbers will ring as usual.
Dial *63 for recorded instructions and to make your list.
Selective Call Rejection
Dial a special code and your phone will reject calls from any number you place
on your rejection list. When your service is turned "on", callers on your list
will hear an announcement that you're not accepting calls at this time. All
other calls will ring through as usual.
Dial *60 for further instructions and to make your list.
